Trust apocalypse

Trust apocalypse

The smallest element of trust needed in Universe is our word.

Our trust in leadership, institutions and democracy is completely bankrupt.

Does this give us permission to become untrustworthy, as if there is no point in being a stand for trust?

Does this allow us to step over lies so obvious, where a trail of clear evidence is there for all to see?

The strongest stand we the people can take against a trustless society is to be our word.

To be our word.

Revolutionary.

Yet even those who preach tenderness and care, even those who aspire to a Syntropic World, find being their word a mountain too high.

This is why this small, single action is so revolutionary.

It requires integrity at the ground level. With self.

To be our word. To self.

Do not lie to yourself. Be rigorous in interrogating the agreements you make with yourself.

Be our word to others.

Make agreements that you keep. Notify the counterparty as soon as possible if, for some reason, you are unable to keep your agreement.

Be your word as if your life and humanity’s future might depend upon it.

Perhaps you think I am being dramatic.

Our world needs trust-based enterprises and communities to collaborate.

Trust starts simply with being our word, consistently.

Being our word is the architecture of integrity.

June 16th 2025 People want peace, yet few are committed to peace for all People want peace, yet few are committed to peace for all I was listening to my National Radio station this morning, interviewing an Australian man who has been living in Tel Aviv for 15 years. He has two children under 5 years of age. He spoke of the terror and fear of being under ‘attack’ by missiles for the last few nights. The routine of bomb shelters. The safe room in his house. The conversation between him and the...

June 15th 2025 A world where dehumanising humans is acceptable A world where dehumanising humans is acceptable This morning, I was listening to a Ukrainian man speaking from his new home in Tel Aviv, where he had moved with his wife to escape the war in Ukraine. He said that because Iran bombed Israeli civilians in Tel Aviv, the retaliation on Iran should be in full force. I heard this statement and my brain stumbled. The hypocrisy of his statement took all the oxygen out of my next breath....

June 14th 2025 The killer app of life. Superiority The killer app of life. Superiority I am writing this article from a National Park just north of Port Macquarie. We are camped right beside the ocean. Life has been pared back to simplicity. Building a fire. Preparing food. Walking the beach. Surfing. Fishing. (Tony) There were dingo tracks on the beach this morning. I did not need a holiday, I said, before we arrived. But I am having afternoon naps. How easy is it to forget that the big work...
