I wonder if we will ever learn

I wonder how you restart after nearly a month?

Like starting at any point. You begin.

Over the last month, I have slept, lived from minute to minute. Explored Mexico. Driven through a Mexican cartel burning car road block.

Witnessed the world go fear crazy over the incidents in Mexico while we, tourists on the ground, never had a moment of fear. Don’t take the news seriously. And do travel to Mexico. It is safer than travelling to the USA.

We explored Mexico City, which has become my most favourite city in the world. Beautiful tree-lined streets, amazing food, culture, history. Safe as safe.

Taken a balloon flight over Teotihuacan, a pyramid built to incredible ecological specifications by a group of people with no name. They eradicated themselves.

Mexico felt like the right place to be after three months of death, legal issues, and endless paperwork and cleaning after the end of two lives.

Death is integral to Mexican culture, reaching back to those people who inhabited Teotihuacan.

If there is a land that can help me digest all of what I was tangled in, it is Mexico.

As Luke Kemp references in his book, Goliath’s Curse, the people of Teotihuacan began as equals. They thrived for hundreds of years. And then the power differentials shifted.

The wealthy became more wealthy. Their cruelty became more cruel. Children were sacrificed. Goliath became bloated with excess, privilege and entitlement.

The common people rebelled. The city collapsed.

This pattern repeated thousands of times around the world, from the beginning of time.

The horror, today, as we witness children sacrificed. By the USA, by Israel.

I wonder if we will ever learn?

I am restored. The world needs healing.
