Replicating outcomes

Replicating outcomes

How easily do we fall into the trap of thinking we can replicate an outcome someone else achieved by following a sequence of steps that they followed?

Rivers teach us this story. You cannot step into the same river twice.

We must start with the conditions we have, the ground conditions. They will never be the same as the ground conditions of those we seek to replicate.

To do this, do a whole systems account – a Synergistic Account – of all that we have and all that we lack. Begin with knowing and understanding the whole, to the best of your ability.

The ground conditions inform the next step. There may be a series of steps that can be replicated; however, the order might be different. Some steps will need to be created anew, others dropped.

The precise, replicable pathway and formula do not work for an emergent world. Only the certainty of the next step.

Yet our business-as-usual, trained mind is addicted to the linear, follow-the-formula route.

The leader steward breathes into the complexity and uncertainty. The immediate now conditions inform the immediate next step.

We hold the tension for the purpose of why we do what we do, which gives us direction. Yet we remain constantly in the dance of not knowing the second or third step.

This is the way of Syntropy.

November 19th 2025 Willful resistance Wilful resistance Both of my parents are alive, one is 92 years old and remarried at 80, the other is 88, lives independently and drives. I understand resistance to technology. I am a fan of the Luddite movement, as we must be able to draw the line between real and digital. I am an advocate for cash. But wilful resistance that costs you and others is stupidity. Technology has always been a tension in human affairs. The use of weapons, fire, hammers. The...

November 18th 2025 A shark feeding frenzy A shark feeding frenzy Several weeks ago, my local surf break became a shark feeding frenzy. See the footage here with very Aussie commentary. I am in this very water most days. The sharks are always there. Just not as snappy and unified as they are in this video. Fear of sharks could be equated to fear of cars. Statistics are clear. Cars and their drivers are far more dangerous. The current world of AI is our human equivalent of this shark feeding...

November 16th 2025 From killingry to livingry From killingry to livingry My mentor, R.Buckminster Fuller, introduced the terms killingry and livingry nearly 100 years ago. As a naval cadet, he was trained in ballistics. He determined that the precessional effects – the effects at 90 degrees to the goal – of making weapons to kill – killingry – would advantage living – livingry. When people are oppressed, starved and bombed, they either capitulate or they become extraordinarily creative. They...
