Authoritarians do not come to power in stable times

Authoritarians do not come to power in stable times

Authoritarians are the ultimate predators. They seek the fear of people diminished by inequality, seizing it and weaponising it for their gain.

They need division. They deliberately stir hate.

This is their happy place. Controlling. Manipulating. Dominating. Cruel.

Opening the unreconciled wound of people who believe their lives are diminished by the other – the immigrant, trans, people who do not look like them – rather than seeing their lives are diminished by the very systems and structures that allow the elite to elite more.

There is a ratchet. Throw shock into the crowd. Just a little shock. That first Little Atrocity. (https://syntropic.world/little-atrocities-the-path-from-integrity-to-self-deception-and-bad-business/)

Let the wave of shock settle. Get away with it. Then repeat, with a slightly greater amplification on the ratchet. Until suggesting that elected lawmakers be executed becomes just another ho-hum comment.

In a context of such shock everywhere, the execution of people on boats without any evidence of crime, the removal of people from the streets and workplaces, and the relocation of people to foreign countries.

Instability is the playpen of the cruel.

They have one agenda. Power and profit for self. They only need acolytes to create the platform. Once platformed, the acolytes become disposable.

And then we get revolution.

Extremes of inequality create instability, and extreme inequality never endures.

November 21st 2025 Under no illusion Under no illusion My partner read my post from yesterday and said it was very harsh. He has a point. Most people do not have the option to do anything but work in jobs that engulf their souls. Our Molochian system (https://syntropic.world/breaking-free-from-molochs-grip-charting-a-new-course-for-humanity/)is designed exactly to create worker bees always on the edge of precarity. It is because of the injustice of this system that I work as I do. I missed...

November 20th 2025 Living a charmed life Living a charmed life I was speaking to someone recently who said they lived a charmed life. Yet they were speaking to me about their work, which they had come to resent. At work, they were taken for granted, exploited, rarely acknowledged and paid very well. As if being paid well gives permission to treat people badly. You get paid to be a prostitute, and sometimes you might get paid well, but you are still being fu**cked. I challenged the charmed...

November 19th 2025 Willful resistance Wilful resistance Both of my parents are alive, one is 92 years old and remarried at 80, the other is 88, lives independently and drives. I understand resistance to technology. I am a fan of the Luddite movement, as we must be able to draw the line between real and digital. I am an advocate for cash. But wilful resistance that costs you and others is stupidity. Technology has always been a tension in human affairs. The use of weapons, fire, hammers. The...
