My definition of success

My definition of success

It has been a question I have explored for forty years, seeking to break down the cultural stories we have been imbued with.

What does success mean to me? On my terms.

This definition has changed over the years, not by much.

My definition of success goes something like this..

If I honour my highest truth at all times…
and get to spend my time doing work that adds value comprehensively…
with people who demonstrate beauty, integrity, and truth in all they do,
trusting at all times in the infinite wisdom of Universe…

While being my word to myself and others,

Investing in my health and the healthy ecologies and relationships that sustain me,

Remaining open of mind, heart and spirit, embracing change and new technologies,

Remaining forever curious, seeking adventure, and being present every day to the beauty of our world,

Daring to care about what matters more than my petty wants,

Challenging the status quo when it becomes corrupted,

Laughing exponentially more than I complain.

Treat all life as sacred, while also refusing to stand for Little Atrocities (https://syntropic.world/little-atrocities-the-path-from-integrity-to-self-deception-and-bad-business/)

And regularly getting to my knees in humility, owning my mistakes, and living in gratitude.

Then I am indeed successful.

What is your definition of success?

November 29th 2025 Grateful for those blisters Grateful for those blisters It is easy to be grateful when our cup of life is full. But to find gratitude when the river is dry, and our soul despairs, is the measure of our character. Easy is it to fall into entitlement. As if we are owed a particular lifestyle. To bemoan the not-so-good, or frankly bad. Gratitude as a life practice insists on finding the good, true, and beautiful in blisters, hunge,r and cold. Gratitude as a spiritual practice...

November 28th 2025 Creating organisational structural integrity Creating organisational structural integrity A system is a conceivable entity dividing Universe into two parts, the inside and the outside of a system. (except, of course, the part of the Universe doing the dividing.) R. Buckminster Fuller In order for us to see otherness, we need an inside and an outside. We need a system. A minimum of four corners is required for existence. The tetrahedron is the minimum system in Universe. The...

November 27th 2025 When we want or need something When we want or need something Invite a question, seek a solution, ask for a resource The usual way. Push, pull, drive, coerce, cajole. The Syntropic Way. Invite. Tell others. Ask. Stay open. Wait. Allow Kairos time. The key is the intention set, and the commitment to the Pattern Integrity of the intention itself. If we are not clear yet, the inquiry brings us closer to clarity. Conversations reveal what we are looking for or seeking, and what...
