The discipline of going to Source

The discipline of going to Source

As a lifetime apprentice of the work of Buckminster Fuller, I was taught to go to Source.

The Source of a system, idea, philosophy, belief, geopolitical issue, word. Woven into the Source is the code animating the Source. The Pattern Integrity. ( https://syntropic.world/pattern-integrity-and-source-idea-as-sacred/)Those particular values and principles that are included in the Source. For example, the Source of a word is its etymological roots. This is where the integrity of the word is carried into time.

It is easy to get caught in the drama being played on the world and local stage. Amplified by the algorithm.

I attempt, sometimes badly, to not comment on issues where I have not done the work and gone to Source. It is much easier to have an opinion without doing the research.

In our deliberately siloed world, the tunnel of propaganda is real. The algorithm feeds upon itself like a rapacious oroborus. We see a world that is missing the majority of the information.

I was listening to a long-time colleague, whom I haven’t connected with in a long time, speak about a polarising issue on the world stage. Their opinion was the opposite of mine. On this subject, I could go deep. I have gone to the Source. The original idea, the first actions, who was at the table, what was proposed, what was the intention, what was the Pattern Integrity of the idea, and the context in which this all occurred. I have committed to understanding the situation. That education and inquiry are ongoing.

This does not make my opinion right, and I do have to be mindful always of my love of righteousness.

And yet, when the evidence is compelling, extensive and archived, it is hard to argue with.

I must learn to not debate people who have not had the discipline to genuinely go to Source and seek to learn and understand. Instead, I might invite them to do so. Refusal to do this is indicative that the attachment to their worldview is greater than their desire for truth. Confrontation is hard because it requires radical change, including changing our identity. (https://syntropic.world/from-victim-to-steward-a-seven-stage-path-part-1/)

And I must continue to ask why, remain curious, and seek always to understand, especially when I think I know.

October 16th 2026 What do we need now to feel safe? What do we need now to feel safe? I heard a politician say that governments have a responsibility to keep their citizen safe. What is it to feel safe? To have a roof over your head. To sleep at night without fear of invasion, attack or threat. To know that if you fall ill, there is a path back to health that you can access and afford. To know that your neighbour will not attack you for your difference. To be able to drink clean water, eat...
