The test of pressure

The test of pressure

At what point do we capitulate to the pressure and break our moral code?

Where is the line?

It is a good question to consider.

To know our boundaries and breaking points.

Because we all have them.

What would you do to feed your children? What lines would you cross? Would you feed your child knowing another child goes hungry?

Would you seek to make your child safe as thousands of children are killed without your protest?

This is the point of being clear about our Pattern Integrity. Our values and principles are easy to maintain in good times. It is what happens under pressure that tells the true story of our Pattern Integrity.

It is also why every story that on the surface seems to violate something – like stealing or having an affair – might seem simple to judge, until we know the context of that situation – our judgment is limited. The thief might be stealing to keep a child alive. The deceptive lover might be seeking love and solace from a loveless, cruel marriage.

In enterprise, we begin with aspirations and dreams. Do no harm. And then the pressure of shareholders, money and power arrives. Unless we have our Pattern Integrity claimed, lived and shared, we will throw our foundational codes away. Just like that.

Rare is the individual or enterprise that knows who they are, the boundaries they will not cross and the pressures they will not fold to.

Be that person. Build that enterprise. Be syntropic.

November 2nd 2026 The Erosion Playbook The Erosion Playbook One little atrocity at a time. This is how we reach a place where elected officials challenge election results, become obscenely corrupt, or get away with genocide. They are masters of micro-erosion, planting tiny little seeds of doubt, watering them, telling lies, embellishing truths, and doing all this on repeat, to the point that truth and fiction are intertwined, making it hard for people to separate one from the other. It is the...

October 30th 2026 Subjugating power, refusing self-trust Subjugating power, refusing self-trust To surrender our authority of decision-making to another is a form of subjugation. There are certainly places we might do this. Seeing a Specialist doctor for a particular condition. Getting financial advice. However, relinquishing our decision-making lives in a context, and we might set the context to better maintain our agency. Learning to trust oneself is a life’s work. To attend to the place...

October 29th 2026 There Is a Way Through There Is a Way Through After weeks of rain, the sky is blue. Moods lift. Life seems shinier. It is a lot, this world, to take in. Too much violence, too much division, too much hate. I watched two young women spend at least twenty minutes capturing the perfect shot last week, and felt exhausted for them. I listened to the BBC interview four young Israelis about the election, and I felt despair. There is a rise in the global number of people with...
