Truth is expensive, lies are cheap

Truth is expensive, lies are cheap

In a world addicted to speed, cheap and dramatic, taking the time to establish truth is slow, expensive, time-consuming, and costly.

People would rather not make that investment in seeking truth.

Give me the quick hit, the drama hook, the scroll.

Our current world is soaked in fiction. Lies are the currency of power, backed by systems tripping over themselves with sycophancy to keep the power in power.

Truth is hard, scary. Asking questions to expose truth comes at a high price, even the price of your life.

At the micro scale, here is how this plays out. You hear a story about a friend or colleague. It is spicy and dramatic. You take the story without any investigation. You assign your colleague as guilty as charged, without the right of reply. Only they are not, in truth. The story edits out all of the context.

At the level of an activist, you see a genocide live-streamed on every media platform. Inarguable. Thousands and thousands and thousands of women and children slaughtered. You speak about this, as you and anyone with humanity would. You call out the system underpinning this atrocity. And you lose your job. In some places, you get arrested and charged with a crime for uttering words or holding a placard.

We are not making telling the truth any easier. Far from it, we are making truth a relic of some past time. For to speak truth exposes the entire system and platform upon which those in power have built their lives.

Our courts have been captured. The mainstream media is lost. Our institutions eroded. In Australia, the government set up the first Anti-Corruption Commission and appointed its first leader, and the leader was corrupt. Not a great start.

Syntropic World is dedicated to truth. It is the harder road to take.

August 11th 2026 We do not value this enough We do not value this enough Seen for our value feeds our soul. Money may feed our bellies, provide shelter and choices. But nothing replaces being truly seen for the value we are, uniquely. I wonder, if we have little to no money, what comes helps most. Money. Or being seen fully for our value. Is being held by others who truly see us the power lift? I watch so many people stalk the world, their wallets bursting with more money than anyone could...

August 10th 2026 Carbon is not the enemy Carbon is not the enemy Bucky Fuller pointed out that pollution was simply stuff out of place. Paul Hawken, author of Blessed Unrest, talks about how we have focused on making carbon the new evil. Our carbon footprint, carbon trading and the general war on carbon. But carbon is essential to human existence. We eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Carbon is not the enemy. Pollution is not the enemy. When we reframe all aspects of life and choose to...
