A moment of peace

A moment of peace

Not a cloud in the sky. A slight breeze. The warm sun on my skin. In the Southern Hemisphere, the last day of winter, the eve of spring.

Yet the weather is, like everything, topsy-turvy.

I just read a quote that humans are a peculiar/terrible species. We worship a God while destroying Nature, which is God.

I might edit that quote. The ‘civilised man’ worships a God while killing Nature, God. May many communities of people, classified by “civilised man” as uncivilised, worshipped Nature as their God.

Yet here we are, in the era of AI - artificial intelligence. A tool built by the same ‘civilised man’ on a premise of intelligence that scrubs from all existence multiple layers of intelligence, while sucking up all the multiple expressions of humanity to feed the machine. The 2026 version of rape and pillage to profit the few. The very few. Colonisation never ended.

I celebrate my 66th revolution around the sun today. I witness this event with a level of detachment. Surely this is not true? How did life move so fast?

This year I witnessed my father’s passing. Death is interesting. I am not reconciled with it as of yet. I examine it with curiosity. I worry for the birds and mammals in Australia, as the H5 bird flu begins its path of destruction.

I read as well this morning that the number one cause of death of children this year is Israel. They also claim the number one spot regarding child amputees. The same article, posted by the Jewish Voices for Peace, said that the number one cause for the rise in antisemitism is Israel. I am grateful to the many Jewish people who speak against the state of Israel.

On my birthday, I am grateful for so many things. The minutia. I can walk, run; I have arms and legs. My health is good. I am loved. I love.

I am grateful for the untangling of my education from the story told about enemy, terrorist and friend. How it has mostly been propaganda told by the ‘civilised man’ to keep the machine of power and the rapacious need for growth.

Bucky Fuller taught a principle called precession. To every action there is a reaction at 90 degrees to the action. The actions of Israel, particularly since 2023, have caused a precessional effect, one they never wanted. A increasing majority of the world aware of the horror of their state; its source idea is built on the framework of supremacy, domination, ethnic cleansing, apartheid, and genocide. The core is rotten. A rotten core has no healthy future.

I revert to the quote about God. Some ‘God’ said the land was chosen.

Humans are foolish. We kill each other, we kill Nature, the true God, for this illusion.

I can reconcile death of the aged. But children. Innocent. The animals. Innocent.

I rage, rage against these actions, and will continue to do so, until my last breath.

On this day, my birthday, I am loved. I love.

The winter sun warms my skin. Amongst the agony of the world, I find a moment of peace.

August 28th 2026 Confused or uncertain Confused or uncertain I was asked in the Synergistic Accounting Class today to distinguish between confusion and uncertainty. Confusion From the Etymological Dictionary Latin confusionem (nominative confusio) “a mingling, mixing, blending; confusion, disorder,” noun of action from past-participle stem of confundere “to pour together Certain Latin certus “determined, resolved, fixed, settled.Old French cert, Italian certo, Spanish cierto), originally a...

August 27th 2026 Care of each other is on us Care of each other is on us As I was driving home from the beach this morning, I was thinking about people like us. This morning Meta decided to pay and pretend to fix some of its harms to children. In Australia, the data centre build-outs appear to be winning. Energy and water. Who cares? Let the gods of tech win. And the US government has deemed the Palestine Action Group a terrorist organisation. Hello Nelson Mandela, you know about this type of...

August 26th 2026 Dolly has left us Dolly has left us She was one of the few people who managed to be universally loved. I think about this. For some, to be universally loved is an aspiration. And I wonder, is it the way, in a world that kills the ‘other’ with such ferocity? We need people like Dolly. She knew she played a public role. That role was not who she was. She played the blonde, yet she was never the stereotype. She could walk out of the negotiation room a winner before the other...
